Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG (2013)

CARBARN | Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG (2013) | Despite being a new model on the market, the design of the SL 63 AMG offers nothing new, bringing the light of the SLS AMG Roadster SLK 55 AMG and earlier. However, all changes, the SL63 AMG looks fresher, sportier and more aggressive. At the front of the vehicle there are distinctive AMG components, such as front apron with large air dams, AMG-specific LED daytime running lamps, and his leg bottom rail in chrome silver. To the rear, Mercedes has added a AMG spoiler lip new, two chromed twin tailpipes for the AMG sports exhaust, rear diffuser and an apron-style insert with body color. The SL63 AMG was equipped with an electro-hydraulic vario-retractable roof that opens and closes in less than 20 seconds.

Inspired by the SLS AMG Roadster, within the new SL63 AMG features AMG sports seats with a single tone or two-tone Nappa leather with a unique layout V8 seat upholstery and AMG badges in seat backrests, a multi-contour function and seat heating as well as AMG carbon fiber trim, AMG light panels sill, ambient lighting, and a clock IWC-design analogue. It includes a TFT color screen, AMG startup display, AMG main menu and RACETIMER. The Mercedes SL63 AMG is powered by an AMG 5.5-liter V8 "biturbo" (twin turbo) engine that delivers 537 hp and 590 lb.-ft. of torque.

With the new SL63 AMG, Mercedes has managed to save about 242 lbs. through an all-aluminum lightweight body similar to the SLS AMG super sports car. The engine is mated to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission with four modes to choose from: "C" (Controlled Efficiency), "S" (Sport), "S +" (Sport plus) and "M" (Manual).  In Europe, the new SL 63 AMG goes on sale in May 2012. The Mercedes SL63 AMG is priced at € 157,675, or $ 208 477 at current exchange rates. The Mercedes SL63 AMG "Edition 1" is priced at € 189,269.50 ($ 250,251 at current exchange rates) and the AMG Performance Pack tacks on another € 4,280 ($ 5,659 at current exchange rates).
